The Troop meeting this week will be held outside near the St Timothy Bus Barn, weather permitting.  We DO NOT have access to the McGivney Room this week.  If there are storms predicted, the leadership will determine whether or not the meeting will be held and will send out an email to let you know of any changes as early as possible.

Wilderness Survival Merit Badge Part 2 - July 30-31

Posted on Jul 24 2016 - 11:51pm

We had 9 Scouts attend part 1 of the Wilderness Survival Merit Badge.  Part 2 will be overnight from Saturday to Sunday, July 30-31 near Winchester, VA.  This merit badge is limited to Scouts who will be 14 or older by the end of 2016; and First Class and above.  It is preferred that they have camping and first aid merit badges - if not, discuss with SM Warsocki before signing up.  Even if you have taken this merit badge before, you're welcome to attend.  It is a good opportunity to hone your skills and assist in training your fellow Scouts.  Must attend both sessions to earn merit badge.

Fundraiser - Nation's Gun Show Vendor Load In and Load Out - July 28-31

Posted on Jul 24 2016 - 11:50pm

As of now, all slots for the Gun Show Load In and Load Out on July 28-31 are filled.  If you have signed up, please be there promptly, ready to work.  There may be more slots opened up at the last minute if the folks we support request additional help - we will let you know if we get word that we can add more volunteers.   Remember that Scouts must be 13 or older (or big enough to carry heavy boxes).  Parents of Scouts of all ages may participate.  Volunteers should dress for the work and weather, sturdy shoes, protective clothes, and work gloves if they have them.  Uniform is Scout t-shirt, work pants, work gloves, work/hiking boots, outdoor coat (as weather requires), Scout hat (of some sort) optional.  All volunteers (Scouts and adults) need to sign in on the pad with the VA Defense Force when they get there and sign out when they leave. Sign up on the Troop calendar if you can be there.  First come first served.  If you need more info then email SM Warsocki if you are interested.

Troop Meeting This Week

Posted on Jul 17 2016 - 10:06pm

The Troop Meeting this week (July 21st) will be held in the McGivney Room.  Uniform is Class A.  If you have any partial merit badges from summer camp that you can complete, please bring your blue card and be prepared to talk to one of our excellent merit badge counselors. If you're ready for rank advancement (we know that lots of new Scouts should be ready for Scout and/or Tenderfoot rank), email SM Warsocki (and cc Mr. Dragone) to ask for a Scoutmaster Conference at the Troop Meeting.  If you have already had a Scoutmaster Conference, email Mr. Dragone to request a Board of Review at the Troop Meeting.
